About
About Dirty Harry and the Rockets
In the summer of 2003, brothers Aaron, Mitch and Matthew decided to get together and jam on some T-Rex songs and a heap of covers, with the chance of maybe playing a few 21st and the occasional piss up at somebodys house that could never afford a band that was any good.
They were kicking around the scence for a bit 'til one day they asked their good friend Trent McCarthy to come help load some gear in at a show. Trent at the time was playing in a stack of bands and was mainly a drummer, but he just worked out how to play that G-Tar. So.. Mitch rang his sorry arse up and asked him if he wanted to join the gig, he says "yeh, Fuck yeh" and 'ere we are.
In the last few years the band have played The Unleashed Festival with Antiskeptic and Gerling, Filled supports for international blues guitarist Wolf Mail and Aussie guitar legend kevin Borich and managed to pull off over 250 odd shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Tasmania.
2005 saw the release of their debut Ep "Hotlit", which was recorded in Mascot Studios in Sydney by Pat Hopkins (Feed the Horse) and Produced by Bas Khoury (The Stilsons, Wolf mail band). The Ep recieved national airplay from regional areas of Australia and some Major cities and was a damn fine first effort for the band.
On a more recent note, Dirty Harry & The Rockets are just getting ready to head back into the studio in May '06 to follow up their Ep with a full lengh album and are heading to Melbourne again in July for a run of shows.
